This is part two of the Hocking House open house
from last Saturday.
I hope you will enjoy some more of Jean Magdich’s
Art and Gardens.
Just beyond the grape arbor is a pond.
What would a grape arbor be without a purple swing
to set in and look out over the pond.
You also of course have to have a patio under this large
grape arbor..
and it has to have grapes decorating the flagstones .
Jean does beautiful artwork to the flagstones
she makes.
I love her sweet little angels that set around in her
garden beds.
This was one of her new pieces that she had added
since I was there two years ago.
This little bench looks soft with its tasseled pillow top
but it may get a little hard after awhile.
This is the bed below her deck.
I really liked her little Butterflies and the finial looks
like something out of Alice in Wonderland to me.
I also really liked this giant Butterfly she had made.
Much prettier than this glaring picture shows.
This Garden Man was new and he looks like he
would enjoy visiting Noel in Hawaii.
The Cat Angel was no new but it was fascinating
in amongst the Ostrich Ferns.
It looks like the legendary Moth Man that was seen
along the Ohio River, minus the red eyes.
Who would not want some of her columns in their
garden.
He could come and set below my downspout any day.
Another of her many finials. This one sports some
pretty irises.
No fear of this egret getting the fish in her pond.
A very pretty garden angel.
Would these planters and patio tiles look good in a desert
garden?
Zebra Mallow
She makes Flowered Birdbaths or feeders of every
color. They were beautiful!
A sunny loveseat for the garden.
This double blooming lily brightened the shade.
Her cats nap all the time in her garden.
The Green Lady
Leaf Table and Chairs.
These are such a beautiful border lilies.
This was a beautiful bed with Hostas, Lilies, Impatiens
Bee Balm, Coneflowers and a Japanese maple.
One of the Ever Bloomers adds to the beauty.
Giant Hosta’s in bloom.

What a fabulous garden Lona, thanks for sharing it. I imagine her pieces are quite expensive, yes? That red flower you admired is simply a scabiosa, called Summer Berries. I started them from seed last year, only one tiny plant made it and didn't bloom till this year. But now look at it!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful place to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed all the pictures in Part 1 and 2. The garden art pieces are fabulous and blends in nicely with the flowers and trees. How I wish I have some of them in my garden.

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful art for the garden, I love the butterfly, of course. But the flowered feeders were so cute and I could use both the tall and short columns in he garden. Great way to elevate any pot. Take care and happy gardening

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed seeing the Hocking Gardens - such a delight seeing all that art and sculpture in the garden. I've been really behind in reading everyone's posts so I've just finished part 1 aswell. My favourites from part one are her stepping stones and those fabulous all year round bloomers and in part 2 its those gorgeous finials. :) Rosie

Hi Lona...I loved the green lady! What an enchanting place to visit and maybe pick up a piece for the garden. The pretty bench complete with tassled pillow had me imagining that this is what a fairy thone would look like.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many neat pieces in that garden surrounded by beautiful plants. The angel is my favorite. Are the columns concrete? I love that idea. One could use them for bird baths, pots, art or just as they are!

ReplyDeleteHi Lona! Great post! I love all the different views of the garden and art!! I especially like her finials (the Alice in Wonderland one is my fave) and the leaf table and chairs. I'd love to have it! I, too, paint my garden flagstones as well as shells, birdhouses, feeders, etc. My whole family gets involved so it's a fun evening project. Of course, my paintings aren't as pretty as hers, but that's OK. No one is blogging about my painted flagstones either! :)
